well i better start paragraphing...learnt that from dorcas..haha..and must also put page number...anyways trackers has indeed been a very memorable and life changing experience..both spritiually and mentally..physically i have grown fatter..(pastor reuben said that..he said he was joking but 30 percent of a joke is true..but haha he got TAU POKED IN THE END...)SO BACK ON TRACK(PUN!!)...I think joining trackers is the best choice i ever made in my life besides the time when i decided to change to another pack of mighty beans and got the super rare MIGHTY MOOSE BEAN!!! I STILL HAVE IT LEH...yea..i really drew closer to god and experienced his mercy and grace...like during the trip...we met a NUN who became a christian..LIKE A NUN LEH...studying about bhudda everyday but God touched her and converted her...after jolyn preached a guy who went to church for the first time.accepted christ...whoo!!!praise the Lord...

WE 'RE PILGRIMS ON THE JOURNEY OF A NARROW ROAD....
i mean even though we prayed for healing for the people in the karen tribe and they didnt miraculously get healed on the spot, i feel that its the process that stregthens us...like how we commit everything to God and just ask him to work through us...i learnt how to just lay everything down at Gods feet and place all my trust and faith in him..that morning before we went for the healing session and make our way up to the mountains, i had to lead devotion and god spoke to me...it was that i should not do things just to prove it and show it to others(in this case healing the people) but to just trust that god will work through us and in us and that he will see us through...i guess its really true..we always get caught up in the things we do but at the end of the day, we forgot what is the real purpose of what we are doing..that is to glorify God...what really hit me so hard as i shared devotion was this sentence in the passge..it talked about us always laying all our troubles at gods feet and asking him to carry his burden..but have we ever thought who carries his burdens???

the karens

the youths there..the girls are really pretty

Thaipostles

the guys..everyday act macho
it was then when i realised that i have always taken it for granted that God does not need help in anyway..but after reading the passage i realised that we can help god by being faithful servants and that he will entrust some tasks to us if we are ready to hear his still small voice...:) before we left the karen tribe, we actually had a jamming session with the people there..they could play the drums and guitar super well..we sang one way..seems like its a universal song..christabel said that the cambodians knew that song too..and then a thought struck me..ok alot of things struck me actually..haha..it was that even though we all speak diff languages but we worship ONE God..which i find super amazing..
We stayed at the karen tribe for only two days..haha if we stayed longer..i probably turn into an ice cube at the end of the trip..its super duper CHAO cold leh..i slept using 10 blankets and wore 2 jackets but in the middle of the night i felt so so cold that i nearly cried...so my mentor ,dorcas lent me her scarf and sleeping bag and i still felt cold..if amandal was there,i think she would just die...she already grumbles that its super cold in singapore when it rains...haha so now we know a new torture method to use on amandal..whoo hoo...

haha i piled 10 of these blankets and still feel SUPER COLD...

the houses of the karens
so besides going to the karen tribe, we also went for a few school outreaches...initially our plan was to teach them about the salvation story..but then pastor ricky(the pastor who brought us around and all) told us that the teachers requested that we tell the children more about valentines day because valentines day was around the corner....so we taught them some simple words that had to do with love like patience,hope,gentleness...and used the opportunity to teach them about God...like how his love last forever unlike man who's love is not perfect...at night we would go to the orphanage to attend their worship sessions...Da ye and meiping preached for two nights..pastor ricky whose name ryhmes with mickey was our translator...there was another translator...she is super zai and cool can...like whatever mei ping said, she could translate it immediately...so jolyn and i decide to be lame by trying to translate whatever mei ping said immediately to chinese...haha it was a disaster..so after the session..we would usually play with the children...like catching and all...they would poke us from the back then we will chase them around..super cool..can lose weight..haha..i manage to piggy back a boy..whoo..i am strong..we hugged the children a lot too..they are all so sweet and i really like pinching their cheeks..hehe..
